Ahead of the 22nd anniversary of Sandra Collins’ disappearance, the Garda have made a plea for information.
When Sandra vanished in Killala, Co. Mayo, on December 4, 2000, she was 28 years old and expecting a child. She was last seen purchasing chips from a nearby takeout.

Her family started a billboard campaign earlier this year asking for information, and TG4 also aired a documentary about her case.

Gardaí have issued an appeal for information about missing Mayo woman Sandra Collins ahead of the 22nd anniversary of her disappearance.

Sandra was 28 and pregnant when she disappeared in Killala, Co Mayo, on December 4, 2000. She was last seen buying chips in a takeaway locally.

Earlier this year her family launched a billboard campaign appealing for information, while a documentary about her case was also broadcast on TG4.

The gardai released a new statement on the eve of the 22nd anniversary of her abduction, pleading with the public for information.

“Gardai in Ballina are reiterating their request for information from the general public as they continue to look into Sandra Collins’ murder and abduction.

Sandra Collins was last seen in the Country Kitchen location on George’s Street in Killala, County Mayo, on the evening of Monday, December 4, 2000, at around 11 p.m. Sandra had just turned 28 years old when she vanished.

Garda stated once more in the appeal that the investigation into her disappearance was still ongoing.

“Over the past 22 years, Sandra’s search has persisted, and the inquiry into her disappearance on December 4, 2000, is still ongoing.

With regard to this ongoing investigation, “An Garda Sochána continue to liaise closely with the Collins’ family.”

They urged people to come forward with any information they might have, even if they at the time discounted it as unimportant.
