Paradise Texas Missing Girl
Athena Strand, 7, has been found dead, according to Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin, who revealed this at a press conference on Friday evening. A suspect has been taken into custody.
According to Akin, Tanner Lynn Horner, 31, admitted to police that he kidnapped and killed Athena on Wednesday afternoon. Athena’s family house was where Horner, a contract FedEx truck driver, was allegedly taken while delivering a delivery.
After confirmation of her death, Athena’s mother posted a heartbreaking statement on Facebook calling her a “princess” and calling her murdered a “cruel, sick monster”.
After Athena Strand’s body was discovered on Friday, authorities reported that her family is “devastated.”
“They’re angry because of what happened-a lovely child snatched from their lives,” Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin stated.
Based on digital evidence and remarks obtained while interviewing Tanner Lynn Horner, authorities think the youngster was taken from her driveway and died within an hour.
FedEx truck driver Horner is being detained at the Wise County jail.
