Michael Chambers Missing
Five years have passed since Michael Chambers of Quinlan vanished, and the retired firefighter is still missing despite numerous searches and extensive media coverage.
On March 10, 2017, Chambers, aged 70, vanished from his house on the 7000 block of FM 2101. Following his entrance, purchase, and exit from the Walmart in Quinlan at 8801 State Highway 34, as seen on camera, Chambers has not been seen or heard from again.
When Chambers’ wife arrived home from work that evening to an empty house, she immediately reported him missing. On the day he vanished, Mrs. Chambers claimed to have spoken to her husband at around 8 a.m.
In October 2021, as a follow-up to a search that was done in May of previous year, investigators with the sheriff’s office cooperated with the Grand Prairie Fire Department Dive Team and Chambers’ family to search at Fannin Creek in the vicinity of FM 2947 and County Road 3516. Both searches, according to sheriff Terry Jones, turned up no data or proof.
Jones stated that the investigation is still ongoing and urged anyone with information to get in touch with the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office at 903-453-6838, or to call Hunt County Crime Stoppers at 903-457-2929 to remain anonymous.
