Police remain discreet about Esther Wallace missing
Esther Wallace, a missing person, is thought to have vanished in Federal Falls, which is located close to Orange and one kilometre southwest of Mount Canobolas.
The mysterious absence of a woman near Orange has now lasted five days, and NSW Police are playing it very safe.
A police representative responded, “There will be no further comment,” when questioned about if a criminal investigation was ongoing or whether anything of significance had been found.
Esther Wallace vanished early on Wednesday. Nearly one kilometre south-west of Mount Canobolas, at Federal Falls, a hiking partner claimed they were separated.
Since then, search efforts by five NSW Police units, the SES, RFS, and employees of the Cabonne Council, NSW Parks and Wildlife Service, and Forestry NSW have yielded nothing.
Due to bad lighting and “dangerous conditions,” the fourth full day of searching ended around 7 PM on Saturday. On Sunday morning, work started up again.
ACM is aware that Sydney’s dog and airborne search teams are available but have not yet been called upon.
On Friday night, the State Recreation Area could hear helicopters flying overhead. The recent torrential rain has seriously destroyed access roads and fire routes.
The Police Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit, PolAir, Chifley Rural Crime Investigators, and officers from the Central West Police District have also assisted to the search.
Esther Wallace is a 47-year-old woman with blonde hair and a Caucasian appearance. At the time of her disappearance, according to police, she was donning an orange jacket, black leggings, and sandals.
Anyone with information on the woman’s whereabouts are urged to contact Orange Police Station or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
