Donna Shamoon missing
In the course of looking for a 51-year-old woman who vanished from her home earlier this week, a body has been discovered.
Police from Durham Constabulary have confirmed that a body was discovered on Thursday afternoon by officers looking for Donna Shamoon, a missing person from Fishburn, County Durham. The police confirmed that Ms. Shamoon’s family has been notified.
Although the body has not yet been formally identified, Durham Constabulary stated that the death is currently being treated as “unexplained”.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary offered their thoughts for her family and friends at this difficult time.
They stated: “We regret to inform you that this afternoon, while looking for Donna Shamoon, a missing woman from Fishburn, officers discovered a body. Although formal identification has not yet taken place, Donna, 51,’s family has been notified.
The death is being treated as unexplained at this time, and investigations are ongoing. During this trying time, our thoughts are with her family and friends.
